GE 7FA Gas Turbine Parts
What Is The Frame 7 Series?
Introduced in the 1970s, the Frame 7 is a well-established platform with a proven track record. Many Frame 7 turbines are still in operation today. The GE Frame 7 gas turbine series is a renowned family known for delivering significant power while maintaining efficiency and adaptability.
The turbine features a hot-end drive, 17 axial compressor stages, and a pressure ratio of 13:1. It has 10 combustion chambers with a reverse-flow DLN1 combustion system that allows for single-digit NOx emissions. The turbine stages include air-cooled first and second stage nozzles and buckets.
The Frame 7 Series gas turbines, including the Frame 7EA and Frame 7F, are renowned for their versatility and efficiency in power generation. These turbines are designed to operate in both simple cycle and combined cycle configurations, offering flexibility to meet diverse energy demands.
Power Output
Frame 7 turbines generate between 50-90 megawatts (MW) of electrical power, making them ideal for industrial applications requiring substantial power generation.
The Frame 7 Series gas turbines, including the Frame 7EA and Frame 7F, offer robust and flexible solutions for power generation. Their ability to operate across a wide range of applications, combined with the use of advanced materials in critical components, ensures reliable and efficient performance. Utilizing OEM parts and adhering to regular maintenance schedules are essential for sustaining optimal operation and extending the lifespan of these turbines.
Application
The Frame 7 Gas Turbine can operate on a variety of fuels including natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), distillate, and treated residual oil. It is used in a variety of applications including LNG pipelines and gas storage.
Hot Gas Path Components
- Critical components such as buckets, nozzles, and shrouds in the hot gas path are essential for the turbine’s performance and longevity. These parts are subject to high temperatures and stresses, necessitating the use of advanced materials to withstand the demanding operating conditions.
OEM Parts and Maintenance
- Maintaining the integrity of the Frame 7 turbines requires the use of OEM parts to ensure compatibility and performance. Energy companies provide comprehensive replacement and spare parts solutions that meet or exceed OEM performance for GE heavy-duty frame gas turbines.
- Regular maintenance, including inspections of the hot gas path components, is crucial for optimal operation and extending the turbine’s service life.
Steam Turbine Integration
- Integrating steam turbines with gas turbines in a combined cycle configuration enhances overall efficiency. The waste heat from the gas turbine is utilized to produce steam, which drives the steam turbine, thereby increasing the power system’s efficiency.
